Florida Bicycle Summit Unites Leaders and Advocates to Shape the Future of Florida Cycling

Orlando Health Leads as the Title Sponsor, showing continued commitment for Safer Streets

(Winter Garden, Fla.) - Registration is now open for the 2nd annual Florida Bicycle Summit, taking place November 14-16, 2025, in Winter Garden and Clermont. Hosted by the Florida Bicycle Association in partnership with Bike/Walk Central Florida and the Florida Freewheelers, the summit will bring together transportation professionals, advocates, and community leaders to focus on making Florida more bike-friendly.

This year’s theme, “Pedaling Forward: Shaping the Future of Cycling,” emphasizes the power of collaboration – bringing people together to identify needs, address challenges, and explore opportunities to improve cycling in Florida.

“This year’s summit is about bringing people together to shape the future of cycling in Florida,” said Courtney Reynolds, President of the Florida Bicycle Association. “This summit is for people who believe that safer, connected, and welcoming streets are key to making Florida better for everyone – not just cyclists. The conversations and partnerships we build here will help move us all forward.”

Bike/Walk Central Florida (BWCF) is co-hosting this year’s summit, bringing a local perspective to statewide initiatives. Once a chapter of the Florida Bicycle Association, BWCF is now an independent nonprofit that champions safer, more connected cycling and walking in Central Florida. As part of the summit, the organization will present its Wheel of Achievement Awards, celebrating the people and projects making an impact across Florida.

“Partnering on the Florida Bicycle Summit allows us to amplify the work being done at the local level while connecting it to statewide progress,” said Emily Bush, Executive Director of Bike/Walk Central Florida. “We are proud to co-host in Winter Garden and Clermont-- two communities that show how planning with people in mind can make walking and biking a natural part of everyday life.”

The returning title sponsor for this year’s summit is Orlando Health.

“We live in a vibrant and thriving community that is rapidly growing. As more people call Florida home, it is incredibly important for us to support initiatives that enhance safety on our streets,” said Dr. Tracy Zito, Trauma Medical Director for Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC). “Our partnership with the Florida Bicycle Association and our sponsorship of this summit underscores our shared commitment to cultivating a community that enables our neighbors, friends, and loved ones to move with safety, confidence, and pride.” Orlando Health is a private not-for-profit, integrated academic healthcare system founded more than 100 years ago that serves communities across the southeastern United States – including Florida and Alabama – and Puerto Rico.
