Join the Movement: Volunteer With the Florida Bicycle Association
Already a member and ready to do more? The Florida Bicycle Association trains and mobilizes volunteers and partners across the state to advocate for sound policy, conduct outreach, and provide education to advance the interests of people on bicycles.
Whether you are a recreational rider, a daily commuter, or part of a competitive team, your voice is essential in our mission to create a safer, more connected Florida. We believe that crashes are preventable, and we refuse to accept them as a foregone conclusion. By volunteering, you help us advocate for the infrastructure and bicycle-friendly ordinances that ensure every journey ends safely.
How You Can Help
We are looking for dedicated individuals to assist in several key areas:
Policy Advocacy: Help us engage with local leaders to support safer road design and urban planning.
Safety Education: Assist in teaching proper techniques, such as ensuring helmets are level on the head and straps form a "V" under the ears.
Community Outreach: Represent the association at events to help normalize diverse modes of travel.
Corporate Partnerships: Connect us with organizations that share our commitment to a bicycle-friendly Florida.
Our Commitment to Safety
As an advocacy and education organization, our imagery and actions must model perfect behavior. We require all volunteers to serve as ambassadors for safety best practices. This includes following all traffic laws—such as riding with traffic and using hand signals—and ensuring that any person under the age of 16 is depicted wearing a correctly fitted helmet.
