Bike and walking trails are just what the country needs to more quickly go green and to promote health. Our health bills now are outrageous and lack of exercise is a huge reason. Our yearly bill to the oil importing countries is abysmal. To say these walking and bike trails are not in the national interest borders on lunacy. Not only keep but expanding the funding.

As Floridians all our lives, my wife and I love the open riding in Bradenton, Sarasota. We are very concerned with the safety of cycling in the area and our club, SMBC, Inc is very safety oriented supporting issues involving cycling safety throughout Florida!

Organized bicycle clubs do the most for cycling safety. Their main objective is safe cycling and proper equipment use.
Florida should be a leader in listening to cycling clubs.

Hearty congratulations are in order Tim, I'll be sad to have you away from the California area bike scene with the work you've done and all. You know how to reach me should you need to.

Y'all are very blessed to get Tim Bustos there. He was here in Davis, California for a number of years, and did a great job helping start to 'turn us around' (once the self-proclaimed "bicycle capitol of the US", bike use in Davis had slipped significantly but is now back on the rise). He's a committed cyclist, a good friend, and great at reaching out to a wide variety of people in the community -- his soft-spoken style is effective in getting them to listen, understand & work together. Congrats, Tim!

I would love to go if they can schedule a training class some time between May 1st and November 30th. I've already taken the Road I course.

December 1st through April 30th are not on the table because of my job's end-of-year and tax season requirements.

If it's farther away than 10 miles from my house, I'd need to find transportation. Within 10 miles, I can bicycle to it. (One of the issues with being a car-free bicyclist.)

Maybe there are other people who have issues similar to mine, and the trainers can figure out a way to get training available for us, too.

The upgrading of Route 17 from Zolfo Springs to the Desota County line will cost millions more of dollars to stay off farm lands instead of widening the existing road. Being a taxpayer and a supporter, I agree with you, now is the time to save money. This project at this stage is projected to waste millions of dollars in the Good "Ole" Boy Politics in South Florida. We are all interested in saving money. Your attention to this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Laura, Thanks for leading the ride. Your presentation was great... but it's going to take more work to get AAA to listen to the voice reason.
