Send Your Message to the National Bike Summit
On March 10-13, Board President David Henderson and I, along with 11 other members of Team Florida, will attend the League of American Bicyclists’ National Bike Summit in Washington, DC. The National Bike Summit is our chance to tell members of Congress how the federal government can create a bike friendly America.
Unfortunately, we will not have bicyclists representing all of Florida’s 25 congressional districts to meet with our representatives.
Will you let us bring your voice to Capital Hill?
If so, send your name, a short statement about where you ride or why bicycling is important to you, the name of your congressional representative and the district he/she represents to me at laura@floridabicycle.org. I will make sure a member of Team Florida delivers your message directly to your congressional representative about why bicycling is important to you.
To find the name of your representative, use LAB’s Bicycle Advocacy Center. Enter your zip code in the “Find Your Officials” box and the names of your national and state elected officials will appear. For a quick glance at the Florida Federal Congressional District Map, go HERE to download a PDF file.
You never know if they read your e-mail but the Florida Bicycle Association will guarantee they get your message.
Sincerely,
Laura Hallam
Executive Director
ps, Ask me how you can become a member of Team Florida and join us at the 2010 National Bike Summit.
